JAKARTA - Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding received complaints regarding the limited quota for placing PMIs in Turkey.

In a meeting with Karding, Ideal Global CEO Istidham Yonetim Danismanlik, Yilmaz Ilknur admitted that he had asked 1,500 workers this year, but only about 300 were approved.

Our company oversees 83 four- and five-star hotels. Last year alone, we needed more than 20,000 workers. But this year's quota is still far from expectations," Yilmaz said at the KemenP2MI office, Jakarta, Monday, July 14.

According to him, Turkey currently needs many Indonesian migrant workers to work there because PMI's work ethic is considered better than other countries. However, if demand is not met, his client considers options from Africa.

"In the hospitality sector alone, the needs of workers in Turkey reach 20,000 per year. We hope that KemenP2MI can be a bridge of solution," said Yilmaz.

Continuing, Karding said it would expand job opportunities for skilled Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) to Turkey, especially in the hotel and hospitality sectors.

According to Karding, job opportunities in Turkey are still very open, especially for positions such as chef, spa therapist, steward, kitchen staff, and waiter.

The currently available office in Turkey has reached 4,271 positions. Of course we hope this number continues to grow," said Karding.

Based on data from the Ministry of P2MI, during the first period from January to June 30, 2025, 5,614 PMIs have been dispatched to Turkey in the sector.

Karding also stated that he was ready to help resolve administrative and technical problems faced by recruitment companies, including Global Ideal, through cross-sectoral coordination.
