Malang City Government (Pemkot) is still waiting for official regulations from the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) regarding audio use activities with excessive votes or sound horeg.

Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat said he had conveyed the matter of the haramsound horeg fatwa issued by the East Java Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

"Because there are several things that need to be done starting from the provincial level. Yesterday I met Mr. Emil (Vice Governor of East Java) said there were several regulations related to this MUI fatwa," Wahyu said in Malang City, East Java, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 14.

If the regulations from the East Java Provincial Government have been issued, the Malang City Government will discuss the derivative regulations.

"Later we will see how far the regulations are," he said.

Currently, the East Java Provincial Government is still working on standard rules regarding the use of sound horeg. This was done as a follow-up to the many complaints from the public who felt disturbed by the excessive use of audio.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the MUI Malang City, KH Isroqunnajah, stated that the fatwa that had been issued by the East Java MUI would be fully followed.

Gus Is, as he is familiarly called, stated that the fatwa will be massively socialized to all people in Malang City.

"Through the sermon, it was also that the impact of the harm was great. There were many incidents, many victims, from the elderly, had a history of heart to baby, it was affected," he said.

In fact, he did not rule out the opportunity to cooperate with competent parties to be involved in socializing the impact of the medical side due to the sound of the horeg.

"We will also ask the advice of medical experts about the impact this voice has on health," said Gus Is.

Regarding the push for the issuance of regulations from the Malang City Government to follow up on the fatwa, he said he would still study the contents of the existing fatwa.

"I will first study the decision from the East Java MUI and we will immediately implement it in Malang City," he said.
