PDIP Bela Anies, Who Is Sentil Jokowi, Becomes President, Has Many Absences At The UN Forum

PDI-P (PDIP) politician Aria Bima responded to Anies Baswedan's criticism that highlighted the absence of Joko Widodo's presence in the United Nations (UN) forum while serving as the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

As a political party cadre who supported Jokowi until he became President of the Republic of Indonesia for 10 years before being replaced by Prabowo Subianto, Aria Bima considered Anies' criticism not to be wrong. Because as a big country, Indonesia should take on a role in the international world.

"Yes, criticism is okay. But constructive criticism, constructive criticism. Mr. Anies said that we are a big country, we are a country in the Southeast Asia region, which is a population of almost 600 million we are almost 300 million. In our world we are number 4. We understand that we colored it. That I think is one criticism that is not wrong," said Aria Bima at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, July 14.

"And how these criticisms will be a way to better educate this nation, this people is about the criteria for future leaders. What is the matter and how to put Indonesia through its leaders able to navigate in the current global geopolitical map," continued the Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR.

According to him, Anies is quite fair in criticizing and is not an aprioritic. "I think Anies has started fairer ways, more open in the learning process. But the important thing is not antipathy criticism. Apriori criticism. I think constructive criticism is needed," said Aria.

However, Aria assessed, it does not mean that Jokowi did not appear at all on the global stage when he became president of the Republic of Indonesia. According to him, many state events and world forums were attended by Jokowi.

"And if yesterday we missed a lot of talks, in the world forums where when Pak Jokowi became president, I think we need to look into it again because there are quite a lot of forums that Pak Jokowi participates in," he said.

"I did not immediately justify it, but also did not blame what was conveyed by Mas Anies," concluded Aria Bima.

Previously, Anies Baswedan highlighted the absence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in important meetings at the global level, including the UN General Assembly in recent years.

According to Anies, when Indonesia was led by Jokowi, Indonesia's representatives in the global forum were represented more often by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, not by the head of state.

"Ladies and gentlemen, for years Indonesia has been absent from the UN meeting. Heads of state do not appear. Always the Minister of Foreign Affairs," said Anies during a speech at the First National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) of the People's Movement, Sunday, July 13.

"If we are not active in the international world. That is like this. We are villagers. The size of the village is the 4th largest. The size of the house is the 4th largest in the RT. But if our village meeting never comes. We just pay the keep going," he said.
