North Korea's Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that Leader Kim reaffirmed its readiness to support the steps Moscow is taking to resolve the situation in Ukraine, as reported by TASS 13.
"Kamerad Kim Jong-un once again expressed the readiness of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to continue to unconditionally support all steps taken by Russia's leadership to resolve the situation in Ukraine fundamentally in accordance with the spirit of the inter-state agreement between the DPRK and Russia," the news agency said in a statement.
In turn, Foreign Minister Lavrov expressed his gratitude for Russia for North Korea's assistance in the release of the Kursk Region, in a meeting held in Wonsan on July 12.
"The Russian side expresses his sincere gratitude for Pyongyang's consistent support for Russia's special military operations, and for the participation of Korean People's Army fighters in expelling Ukrainian nationalists and foreign mercenaries from the Kursk Region," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Both Leader Kim and Foreign Minister Lavrov agreed that the increasing tension between the Korean Peninsula was due to increased Western military activity.
