KPK Examines Khofifah Tomorrow At The East Java Regional Police Regarding The Grant Fund Bribery Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will summon East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa regarding the bribery case for grant funds for community groups (pokmas) from the East Java Regional Budget for the 2019-2022 period on Thursday, July 10. However, he will not be questioned at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"It's true, the KIP Governor of East Java is scheduled to be examined as a witness in the pokmas grant case, on Thursday, July 10 at the East Java Regional Police," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, July 9.

Budi explained that the examination at the East Java Regional Police was carried out because the task force (task force) handling the pokmas grant fund case was in the area. Khofifah was asked to be cooperative in attending.

"KPK believes witnesses will attend and provide information needed by investigators in handling this case," he said.

Meanwhile, Khofifah should have been summoned as a witness in the bribery case for grant funds for community groups or pokmas from the East Java Provincial Budget for the 2019-2022 Fiscal Year on June 20. However, he was not present because there was a scheduled agenda so he asked for a reschedule.

In this case, the office of Khofifah and her deputy, Emil Elestiano Dardak and his subordinates were searched by investigators on December 21, 2022. A number of documents related to the alleged bribery of East Java Provincial Government grant funds were found and confiscated.

Then, Khofifah's name was also mentioned by former Chairman of the East Java DPRD Kusnadi after undergoing examination as a witness on Thursday, June 19. According to him, the former Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) was aware of grant funds and participated in discussing them in his capacity as regional head.

Previously reported, the KPK again investigated the alleged bribery of grant funds for community groups or pokmas from the East Java Provincial Budget for the 2019-2022 Fiscal Year. 21 suspects have been determined from the development of the case.

In the process of running, a number of locations have been searched by investigators. Among them are the house of former DPD Chairman La Nyalla Mattalitti and the East Java Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) office.

In addition, the KPK has asked the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent 21 people from leaving the country in this case. They are a case that is a state administrator or member of the East Java Provincial DPRD; AI, a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD; MAH, a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD; and AS a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD.

Then also prevented by BW, JPP, HAS, SUK, AR, WK, AJ, MAS, AA, AYM, AH, RWS, MF, AM, and MM as private parties; FA as a member of the Sampang Regency DPRD; and JJ who is a state administrator or member of the Probolinggo Regency DPRD.
