Roy Suryo Asked 85 Questions In The Case Of Allegations Of Jokowi's Fake Diplomas: We Have The Right Not To Give Information

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Roy Suryo, has finished undergoing investigations related to the alleged defamation case related to allegations of fake diplomas by the 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at Polda Metro Jaya.

During the inspection process, investigators were said to have asked 85 questions.

"I have 85 questions with 55 pages, so it can be resolved very quickly," said Roy Suryo to reporters, Monday, July 7.

But Roy Suryo did not explain in detail the material or questions raised by investigators. It is only mentioned when the big question is not answered.

The reason, in the report, he has become a reported person so that he has the right not to provide information.

"If we have become reported, then we have the right not to provide information, because that is our right," he said.

"Why are we giving information that it turns out that the information will actually be used to ensnare us and all of our friends," continued Roy Suryo.

However, the telematics expert stated that at the beginning of the process of taking information from investigators only questioned the identity and health.

"We were only examined about being asked at the beginning of the name and then how is the health condition but so on," said Roy Suryo.

As a reminder, this case stems from an official report submitted directly by President Jokowi to the Polda Metro Jaya. He reported the parties who accused him of using fake diplomas as a form of defamation.

The report refers to a number of articles in the Criminal Code (KUHP), namely Articles 310 and 311 concerning defamation. In addition, investigators also apply Article 27A, Article 32, and Article 35 of the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE).

Jokowi emphasized that this legal step was taken so that the accusations that had been developing could be handled openly and thoroughly.

"Yes, this is actually a minor matter, yes, it is a matter of alleged fake diplomas. But it does need to be brought to the realm of law so that everything is clear and clear," said Jokowi.

Until now, investigators are still clarifying and collecting evidence to follow up on the report legally.
