Residential Of Pariaman Lodging Reaches 90 Percent Ahead Of The Tabuik Peak

JAKARTA - The City Government (Pemkot) of Pariaman, West Sumatra, noted that the occupancy rate of lodging and hotels in the area for the peak of Pesona Hoyak Tabuik Piaman 2025 reached 90 percent.

"We are coordinating with hotel employers' associations, the room booking rate for the peak of Tabuik has reached 89 to 90 percent," said Acting Head of the Tourism and Culture Office of Pariaman City, Ferialdi, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, July 5.

He said the inn room reservations were tourists who would witness the procession at the peak of Pesona Hoyak Tabuik Piaman, namely Hoyak Tabuik and Tabuik Thrown into the sea on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Ferialdi said that at the beginning of the implementation of the Tabuik, namely 1 Muharam or 27 June 2025, the occupancy rate for lodging in Pariaman reached 100 percent and even many tourists did not get a room.

He explained that the phenomenon that occurred in the last few days was not only because the implementation of the Tabuik had begun but at the same time the National Roller Skate Championship was also held with more than 600 athletes participating.

In addition, at the same time, the Baveti International Tennis Championship was held which was attended by 300 participants from various countries.

"So the agenda collided, after the activity was completed the number of visits began to decrease," he said.

It is reported that lodging in Pariaman is often full because the number is still limited, even until the middle of last year the area only had dozens of lodging units and several hotels with hundreds of rooms.

He hopes that with the full condition of lodging in Pariaman, it can attract citizens or investors to invest their shares in the sector in the area.

Previously, the Pariaman City Government was optimistic that the number of tourist visits during the implementation of the 2025 Tabuik Piaman Hoyak Cultural Charm which was held from June 27 to July 6 could reach 400,000 visitors because its implementation coincided with school holidays.

"We are targeting the number of visits to reach 400,000 visitors, with the school holidays we are optimistic that the number of visitors is higher than the previous year," said Acting Head of the Pariaman City Tourism and Culture Office, Ferialdi in Pariaman.

He said last year the Pariaman City Government also targeted the number of visits to reach 400,000 visitors, but the realization was around 300 thousand visitors.
