Simalungun Prosecutor's Staff Died Drifting In Asahan River, The Attorney General's Office Expressed Condolences

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) of the Republic of Indonesia expressed its condolences for the death of a Pidsus staff of the Simalungun District Attorney's Office, Reynanda Primta Ginting (26), who was swept away in the Asahan River, North Sumatra, while carrying out his duties.

"We express our deepest condolences for his death in carrying out his noble duties. With sincere prayers, may he be accepted by His side and the family left behind will be given strength and fortitude," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) AGO Harli Siregar in Jakarta, Friday, July 4, quoted by Antara.

He said that this incident was a deep sorrow for all Adhyaksa people wherever they were.

The former West Papuan Kajari also said that the Prosecutor's Office was proud to have young Adhyaksa like the late Reynanda who had fighting power and courage. In fact, to the point of sacrificing his life for dignified law enforcement.

"This attitude will be a spirit and role model for other Adhyaksa people in their work," he said.

It is known, on Thursday, July 3, the Medan Search and Rescue Office (SAR) through the Tanjung Tanjung Balai SAR Post together with a joint team evacuated the body of Reynanda Ginting in the Asahan River, East Kisaran District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra.

Head of the Medan Class A SAR Office Hery Marantika said that the victim was found after the joint SAR team carried out a search operation for two days. The victim was found about two kilometers from the initial location of the incident.

"The evacuation process was carried out by personnel from the Tanjung Balai Asahan SAR Post along with joint elements from BPBD, TNI/Polri, local communities, and other potential SAR," he said.

Based on the report, he said, the unfortunate incident began when the victim and his co-worker carried out their duties to ask for information from the Head of Banjar Hulu Village, Simalungun Regency.

However, when the BAP letter was given, the village head fled and jumped into the river so that the victim was chased. However, the victim was carried away by the river current.

Residents who also saw the incident tried to help and search for victims, but the search results were nil and immediately reported the incident.

"Receiving the incident report, the Medan Class A Search and Rescue Office through the Tanjung Balai Asahan SAR Post immediately deployed a rescue team complete with water SAR equipment," he said.

In the search operation, he said, the joint SAR team carried out the method of sweeping the surface using an LCR boat and visual observations from the ground.

"After being successfully evacuated, the victim's body was immediately taken to the hospital for further processing," said Hery.
