KPK Doesn't Hesitate To Call Bobby Nasution If There Is Evidence Related To The Bribery Case Of Road Projects In North Sumatra

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will not hesitate to summon North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution regarding the alleged bribery of the PUPR Service and the North Sumatra Region 1 PJN Satker. The statement from the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is definitely needed if there is a connection.

This was conveyed by the KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to answer the netizen's statement, which assessed that his institution would not dare to summon Bobby.

Bobby's name was dragged into this case because Typhoon Obaja Putra Ginting or Typhoon Ginting as the former Head of PUPR for North Sumatra Province was referred to as a close person.

"KPK opens opportunities (checking, ed) whoever it is, if it is suspected that it is aware of the construction of this case and information and information is needed," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 2.

Even so, the anti-corruption commission will not carelessly make summons. The investigation process, Budi said, must be in accordance with the evidence.

"Of course, in carrying out investigative actions based on evidence, everything will be investigated and traced," he said.

As for this case, the anti-corruption commission continues to search for evidence through searches. Forced efforts have been made in a number of locations, including Topan's house on Wednesday, July 2.

From this activity, investigators found Rp2.8 billion in cash denominations of Rp100 thousand and Rp50 thousand and two firearms.

As previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in the North Sumatra region on Thursday, June 26. It is suspected that money was given in the road construction project in the province.

From this activity, five people were finally named as suspects. They are the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (PUPR) Topan Obaja Putra Ginting or Topan Ginting; Effendi Siregar Rasul as the Head of the UPTD Gunung Tua North Sumatra Province PUPR Service concurrently the Commitment Making Officer (PPK); Heliyanto as PPK PJN Satker Region I North Sumatra Province; M. Akhirun Efendi Siregar as the President Director of PT DNG; and M. Rayhan Dulasmi PIlang as the Director of PT RN.

The Typhoon was inaugurated as Head of PUPR on February 24 by the Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution. He previously served as Head of the Public Works Service or the Department of Water Resources, Highways and Construction Development of Medan City and had sat as Acting (Plt) Medan City Secretary when the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia sat as Mayor of Medan.

Setelah ditetapkan jadi tersangka, Topan bersama empat orang lainnya akan ditahan di Rutan KPK. Upaya paksa ini dilaksanakan selama 20 hari pertama dan akan diperpanjang sesuai kebutuhan penyidik.
