Pamekasan Police Investigate Case Of Expedition Courier Persecution

PAMEKASAN - Pamekasan Police, East Java, conducted an investigation into cases of abuse by grocery store entrepreneurs against expedition couriers that resulted in injuries.

"We investigated the alleged beating of a businessman on the basis of the report submitted by the victim to the Pamekasan Police Headquarters," said Pamekasan Police Chief AKBP Hendra Eko Triyulianto as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 1.

The expedition courier who was a victim of abuse by the grocery store entrepreneur was named Irwan Sisiyanto (27) from Bringah Hamlet, Dasok Village, Pademawu District, Pamekasan Regency.

This man became a victim of abuse by a grocery store entrepreneur with the initials AR while delivering the package to the address of the perpetrator's shop on Jalan Desa Laden, Pamekasan, Monday (30/6/2025) at around 10.45 WIB.

The purchase package of cell phones to one of the online store stalls worth IDR 1,589,235 was purchased with the on-site payment system (COD).

At that time, the package was received and opened by the perpetrator's wife, but was deemed not according to orders and the wife asked for the money to be returned.

"But I refused the request, because I was just a courier. In accordance with the provisions, the cancellation of the purchase must be made through the application," he said.

However, at that time, AR immediately tortured the victim, causing the victim's mouth to bleeding.

At that time, the victim tried to explain to the perpetrator, regarding the technique of returning goods purchased at online stores, but the perpetrator did not want to care, until finally the victim was forced to obey the perpetrator's wishes, namely returning the money he had received.

"Instead of being strangled to death, I had to return the money, even though the process of returning goods purchased online was not like that," said Irwan.

As a result of the persecution, Irwan admitted that he was sick in the neck, especially when he looked up or swallowed, and felt pain in his bleeding teeth.

The victim then reported the alleged abuse case carried out by the grocery store entrepreneur to the Pamekasan Police Headquarters.

"Today I ask the Pamekasan Police Criminal Investigation Team to start conducting an investigation by asking for information from the parties," he said.

Police Chief AKBP Hendra Eko Triyulianto promised to thoroughly investigate the case, even though the perpetrator is an entrepreneur.

"For the police, everyone has the same position before the law. Anyone who is wrong or violates the law must be dealt with firmly in accordance with applicable legal provisions," he said.
