Prabowo Affirms Indonesia And Malaysia Agree On Solutions For Two Countries To Be The Key To Palestine-Israeli Peace

JAKARTA - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, once again affirms Indonesia's commitment to Palestinian independence. According to him, the two-state solution is the only path that is fair and sustainable to achieve lasting peace between Palestine and Israel. This affirmation underscores Indonesia's consistent diplomatic position in supporting the sovereignty and rights of the Palestinian people in the international arena.

"Regarding Palestine, we continue to support Palestinian independence. Only two-state solutions can end the dispute," President Prabowo said as quoted by ANTARA in a statement after a bilateral meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Anwar Ibrahim at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday, June 27.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of global cooperation in efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict peacefully.

Presiden Prabowo menyatakan bahwa Indonesia dan Malaysia memiliki pandangan yang sejalan dalam mendukung upaya kolektif dunia untuk mendorong penyelesaian konflik yang telah berlangsung selama puluhan tahun itu.

"Indonesia and Malaysia view the need for a global collective effort to promote peaceful conflict resolution," said President Prabowo.

A statement regarding Indonesia's attitude in the midst of the Palestinian-Israeli war was also conveyed by President Prabowo on various bilateral agendas, one of which was during a meeting with the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron in Jakarta, on Wednesday (28/5).

At that time, President Prabowo called for Israel to immediately recognize the sovereignty of the Palestinian state.

"Indonesia has said once the Palestinian state is recognized by Israel, Indonesia is ready to recognize Israel and we are ready to open diplomatic relations with Israel. We also convey that Indonesia is ready to donate peacekeepers in the region," he said.

In various forums, President Prabowo has expressed many Indonesian attitudes that view that the completion of the two-state solution is the only way to achieve the right peace.

Indonesia's stance on resolving the Palestinian and Israeli conflicts is in line with the constitutional mandate contained in the opening of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.

In the opening, it was stated the Indonesian nation's commitment to participate in implementing world order based on independence, eternal peace, and social justice.
