JAKARTA - The Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, is aggressively promoting the Culinary Tourism Center (SWK) to young entrepreneurs from the City of Heroes as an effort to drive the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"My goal is to invite young entrepreneurs to promote a variety of foods and beverages in SWK," said Eri Cahyadi in Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, May 4.

Eri Cahyadi admitted that he had started by inviting a young entrepreneur from Surabaya as well as the owner of a Lamborghini sports car, Melvin Tenggara to enjoy a meal while breaking the fast together at SWK in the Wiyung area, Surabaya on Monday, May 3 evening.

On his way to SWK, Melvin Tenggara took Eri to share a car with him. The car with the metallic gray number B 81 MLV plate was deliberately prepared by Melvin to invite Eri from Surabaya City Hall to SWK.

Eri Cahyadi said he was happy because a young entrepreneur was willing to enjoy culinary at SWK. In fact, this young entrepreneur from Surabaya also helped promote the culinary delights there. He also hopes that other people can imitate him.

"With his big spirit, he wanted to help the economy, eating here said it was delicious, comfortable. Even the first banana cheese tasted good. I want other Surabaya people to know," said Eri Cahyadi.

Eri Cahyadi said that in the future, the promotion of culinary or UMKM Surabaya products would further intensify. The promotion method carried out by Eri Cahyadi is not only through the municipal government social media, but also collaborates with influencers and invites city government officials to become marketing.

"Marketing can be through YouTubers, influencers, through the mayor as well as marketing. Well, Surabaya City Government officials must also be marketing. God willing, together we work together, I'm sure the economy in Surabaya will move again," he said.
