Iran Has Arrested 700 Israeli Spys Since The Beginning Of War

JAKARTA - The Iranian government has arrested more than 700 people on charges of spying on Israel since June 13. Three of them were sentenced to death for espionage, Iran Fars news agency reports.

According to Iranian intelligence and security forces quoted by the news agency, the arrests were made in several provinces such as Kermanshah, Isfahan, Khuzestan, Fars and Loresan.

Reported by ANTARA from Sputnik-RIA Novosti, in addition to making arrests, Iran also executed three men charged with spying for Israeli intelligence agent Mossad in Urmia Prison in West Azerbaijan province on Wednesday, June 25.

The three men are said to have attempted to import hardware into Iran under the guise of sending alcohol into terrorist acts.

Tensions in the situation in the Middle East escalated on June 13, when Israel launched a massive operation against Iran, accusing it of carrying out a secret military nuclear program.

Tehran then retaliated by launching Operation True Promise III, which attacked military targets within Israel.

On June 22, the US attacked three Iranian nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan, joining Israel in an attack on Iran.

After carrying out the attack, US President Donald Trump said that Tehran "now must agree to end this war" or face far more serious consequences.

With the threat, on Monday, Iran launched a missile strike at US-Owned Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar in response to the US attack.

However, the attack did not have a significant impact as all but one missile was intercepted and did not cause any casualties.

Furthermore, on Monday evening, Trump said that Israel and Iran had agreed to a ceasefire.

On Tuesday, Trump said a ceasefire between Iran and Israel came into effect.
