Holds Ketupat Operation In DKI, Thousands Of Personnel On Alert Security To Appeal To Residents To Pray For Id At Home

JAKARTA - The joint military-police apparatus and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government deployed 4,276 personnel in the 2021 Ketupat operation. This operation lasted almost two weeks.

"Centralized police operations codenamed Ketupat Jaya 2021 will be carried out in 12 days, in which we will involve as many as 4,276 personnel, both from the Police backed by the TNI, as well as from the local government, especially from the Transportation Agency, Satpol PP, Dinkes, Fire Brigade," said the Head of Bureau. Operation Ketupat aims to secure the Eid holiday. Especially preventing people from returning to their hometowns by being on standby at an insulating post on the prohibition of going home.

"The activities, among others, are insulating 14 points, then 17 check points. Then 77 security posts are also prepared," Marsudianto explained.

In addition, Marsudianto also appealed to the public to carry out Eid prayers at home. This is to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

"Including for the Eid prayer activities if possible at home, it will not reduce the meaning of the prayer itself," he said.

However, this appeal was emphasized as still a proposal. What is clear, continued Marsudianto, is not to let a wave of COVID-19 spread in Indonesia.
