Rano Karno Invites Menpan RB Mandatory ASN Ministry To Take Public Transportation Every Wednesday

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno admitted to proposing to the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB) Rini Widyantini to require ASN in all ministries in Jakarta to use public transportation every Wednesday.

Currently, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has required ASN within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to take public transportation when leaving until they return from work every Wednesday.

According to Rano, if this is also carried out by all ASN based in Jakarta, the volume of congestion in the capital city will decrease.

"Yesterday, that's why we whispered, we talked to the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. Hopefully, if the Jakarta civil servants, all Ministries do not use private vehicles, all with public facilities, the DKI government believes that one congestion will decrease," said Rano at CIBIS Park, Cilandak Timur, South Jakarta, Wednesday, June 25.

In addition, the use of public transportation for ASN in all agencies in Jakarta can also help reduce carbon emissions produced from motorized vehicles. The DKI Provincial Government, he continued, can make Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and Jakarta LRT services free for all ASN.

"We give free to 15 groups. One of them is ASN. ASN here is not just ASN DKI. All ASN are free to ride the MRT, take the transjabodetabek. Well, this is what we want to start," said Rano.

On the one hand, Rano revealed that the DKI Provincial Government continues to expand the affordability of public transportation from Jakarta to buffer areas by providing Transjabodetabek services.

A total of five Transjabodetabek routes have now been inaugurated by the DKI Provincial Government in the Pramono-Rano leadership. These include the Alam Sutera-Blok M, PIK2-Blok M, Bogor-Blok M, Sawangan-Lebak Bulus, and Vida Bekasi-Cawang routes.

"Imagine which people have imagined, our name is Transjakarta, we have expanded it into Transjabodetabek," he said.

In addition, the government is currently building the MRT Jakarta phase 2 project across the south-south. "God willing, MRT from HI to Tanjung Priok, at least until Kota Tua Baru will end in 2029," he added.
