Ministry Of Home Affairs Explores Information On Four Islands In Anambas Allegedly Sold On Online Sites

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) is studying more deeply regarding information regarding four islands in Anambas Islands Regency (KKA) which are allegedly sold through foreign-owned online sites.

"Yes, there is already information about it. But we are still investigating it," said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto, in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, June 21.

However, he admitted that he did not know who sold the four islands

Regarding the legality of selling islands online, Bima Arya said everything about the sale of islands must be done according to the rules.

Thus, he will first study in detail the accuracy of information regarding the sale of islands on online sites, before taking action.

"The point is I first study in detail what kind and to what extent the information is accurate. That's the most important thing," he asserted.

Previously, the Riau Islands Province Regional Border Management Agency (BP2D Kepri) coordinated with relevant agencies as well as local governments at the provincial and local district levels regarding information regarding islands in Anambas Islands Regency (KKA) allegedly sold through foreign-owned online sites.

"After receiving information regarding the sale of islands in Anambas Islands Regency on the online website, BP2D has coordinated with the Regent of the Anambas Islands so that this information can immediately be checked for correctness and avoid polemics in the community," said Head of BP2D Kepri Doli Boniara confirmed by ANTARA in Batam, Wednesday, June 18.

In addition to the Regent of the Anambas Islands, he said, BP2D also coordinated with the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Riau Islands, as well as the local Fisheries Marine Service (DKP) to convey this information.

Based on the results of coordination, he said, it was emphasized that according to the rules there was no sale of islands in the Anambas Islands Regency to foreign nationals.

Likewise, the results of coordination with the Regent of the Anambas Islands emphasized that there is no regulation that allows the sale and purchase of islands freely.
