Towards 79th Bhayangkara Day, Riau Police Holds World Environment Day Ceremony And Religious Service

JAKARTA - The Riau Police gave awards to people who have contributed greatly to supporting the Green Policing program of the Riau Police.

The award charter was symbolically handed over by the Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry through Riau Deputy Chief of Police Brigadier General Jossy Kusumo during the commemoration of World Environment Day and 79th Bhayangkara Day of 2025.

In his remarks, Brigadier General Jossy emphasized the importance of maintaining harmony and stability between nature, customs, and technology.

"Let's prove that customs and knowledge can go hand in hand. Locality can grow side by side with progress," said Jossy in his statement, Thursday, June 19.

Not only that, but Jossy also asked all parties to be more sensitive to environmental sustainability and sustainability.

"Our job is to maintain, not destroy. Riau must stop being known as an illegal cigarette and wood producer. It's time for us to be known as the lungs of the green, clean, and sustainable world," he said.

Jossy also briefly cited the Malay philosophy relevant to the Riau Police's efforts to introduce Green Policing to the entire Riau community.

"Tanda orang memegang amanah, tak merusak hutan dan tanah," katanya.

This serves as a reminder to protect nature not only a moral responsibility, but a noble cultural and spiritual mandate.

This activity is not just a ceremony, but a collective declaration that the synergy between the government, legal apparatus, society, and environmental activists can be the main force in responding to ecological challenges.

Meanwhile, the ongoing ceremony was attended by joint TNI-Polri personnel, Riau and Kampar Forkopimda ranks, Riau Police Main Officials (PJU), Environment and Forestry Service (DLHK), Satpol PP, environmental activists, to Scouts.

Also present at that moment, Ustaz Abdul Somad, Founder of the Rocky Gerung Institute, and Professor of UNJ Social Philosophy, Prof. Robet.

An atmosphere full of enthusiasm enveloped hilly areas and tropical forests which witnessed the birth of a shared commitment towards a greener future.

The series of activities began with reading the declaration of environmental care that inspired all participants.
