MALANG - Police arrested a perpetrator with the initials IY (24) who was involved in extortion accompanied by threats and rape in Malang, East Java.

Kapolsek Lowokwaru Malang City, Kompol Fatkhur Rokhman, was quoted from Antara as saying, the beginning of the incident was when the perpetrator was looking for a woman who could be invited to have sex through social media, Twitter.

The perpetrator finally found the woman, the potential victim, until a bargain over the price occurred.

Both of them agreed on a figure (dating rate) of IDR 450 thousand and will have a meeting at one of the guest houses, Jalan Borobudur Selatan, Kelurahan Mojolangu, District of Lowokwaru, Malang City.

"At the meeting, the suspect immediately pointed a sharp weapon, took the victim's property, and committed rape," said Fatkhur, at a press conference in Malang City, Monday, May 3.

The perpetrators were residents of Pakisaji District, Malang Regency. In the results of the investigation, the perpetrator assumed that the victim had a lot of money.

The suspect pointed a knife to the victim's neck and asked to remove the items in the bag.

Then, the victim took out a wallet containing Rp. 100,000 and was immediately given to the suspect. Then, the suspect tied the victim on his stomach, and took a smartphone belonging to the victim.

"After getting the money, and the victim's cellphone, then the suspect raped at that place. After committing the act, the suspect left the location," he said.

For his actions, IY was charged with two articles of the Criminal Code (KUHP). The first article that was suspected was Article 368 concerning extortion and Article 285 concerning rape.

"The threat of imprisonment for article 368 of the Criminal Code, nine years, and article 285 for 12 years in prison," said Fatkhur.
