KPK Advisor Becomes The First Farewell Officer

JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) advisor M Tsani Annafari became the first employee to say goodbye, after KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo said three of his employees had resigned.

When announcing his resignation, Tsani asked other KPK employees to stay afloat and not follow in his footsteps so that the eradication of corruption could continue.

"I do not want to be seen as provoking my friends at the KPK to resign as well. I even conveyed to KPK friends so that the fire of combating corruption does not go out," Tsani told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, 29 November.

He said that his resignation had been carried out a long time ago and was effective on December 1, 2019. After resigning from the anti-corruption agency, Tsani will return to his original institution, namely the Ministry of Finance. It's just that, he doesn't know what position he will take later.

"I will return to the Ministry of Finance to be precise at the Secretariat General. Later I just have to wait for orders," he said.

The KPK employee who resigned was not only Tsani. To VOI, KPK Deputy Chairman Saut Situmorang confirmed that several of his employees had resigned. "There are already several official ones," he said via text message, Friday, November 29.

However, he did not deny that there were also several employees who had indicated that they wanted to resign from the anti-graft agency.

"There are some who have indicated (resigning). Hopefully there will be no brain drain outside the KPK," he said.

However, Saut did not want to reveal the reasons for the resignation of his employees or who else would resign. However, there are allegations that the resignation of some of these employees is due to Law Number 19 of 2019, which mandates the transition of the KPK employee status to the state civilian apparatus (ASN).

This status is not only for ordinary employees, but also for investigators and investigators. This makes KPK employees no longer independent and vulnerable to transfer when carrying out corruption cases investigations.

This personnel transition is planned to be carried out over the next two years after the KPK leadership volume V is inaugurated and carries out its duties in December.

Although December is imminent, the formulation for the transition seems unclear. Because, Saut only said that they were still talking with the MenPAN-RB who was in charge of managing ASN. "Already, now it is in process with related parties, MenPAN-RB," he concluded.
