JAKARTA - The Islamic Boarding School Development Association (P3M) firmly rejects the Draft Regional Regulation of Non-Smoking Areas (RAPERDA-KTR) DKI Jakarta 2025 which is currently in the discussion stage at the DKI Jakarta DPRD level. The P3M policy Study and Advocacy Team stated that the Raperda KTR contained articles that have the potential to harm various economic sectors, threaten the livelihoods of millions of Jakarta residents and disproportionately limit consumer rights.
After conducting a comprehensive study of Draft Raperda KTR submitted by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the P3M Policy Study and Advocacy Team identified at least fourteen (14) problematic articles that were very detrimental to the community, small entrepreneurs, and various related economic sectors. "This Jakarta KTR Raperda was created without considering the overall social-economic impact. A number of articles in it have the potential to turn off small and medium-scale businesses that have been hit by various economic crises over the past few years," said Sarmidi Husna (P3M Executive Director).
