JAKARTA - French police are examining a student who stabbed a 31-year-old school assistant to death on Tuesday. Stabbing occurred when students' bags were checked outside the school gate in Nogent, France.
"Currently the suspect is being held at the Nogent police station," said Haute-Marne Prefecture.
"While guarding our children in the Nogent, an education assistant lost his life, a victim of an unreasonable wave of violence," President Emmanuel Macron wrote on X.
"This nation is grieving and the government is deployed to reduce crime," he added.
Several media reports say the suspect is a 15-year-old student. Reuters could not immediately confirm this information.
