Diksar Leads To Death: FEB Unila Student Dies Allegedly Due To Senior Violence

LAMPUNG Pratama Wijaya Kusuma, a student of the 2024 class of the Department of Digital Business, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Lampung (FEB Unila), died after participating in the basic education activities (diksar) of Environmental Lovers' Economic Students (Mahapel) FEB Unila.

Based on the information gathered, the diksar activity took place on November 10'14, 2024 in Talang Mulya Village, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung. In this activity, Pratama was suspected of experiencing brutal physical violence from seniors. He is said to have been kicked in the stomach and chest, and forced to drink the spirit.

After following the diksar, Pratama's health condition worsened. He had undergone intensive treatment at Abdul Moeloek Hospital, Bandar Lampung, before finally dying on April 28, 2025.

The results of the medical examination showed that there were blood clots in the head and injuries to the neck, stomach, and arms. The attorney is now planning to report the entire incident to the Lampung Police, as well as build communication with the deceased's family so that this case can be opened clearly before the law.

As of last Saturday, the family of the late Pratama Wijaya Kusuma had not yet given an official statement to the media. They are still in a state of grief.

Meanwhile, a number of Unila students who were also victims of violence in the Mahapel diksar finally decided to take legal action. They urged the police to immediately thoroughly investigate the alleged violence they experienced.

One of the victims, Muhammad Arnando Al Faaris, and three of his colleagues Abdi Muhariyansyah, Icen Amsterly, and Syuhada Ul Auliya have appointed a legal representative from a legal aid office in Bandar Lampung. They took this step to demand justice and encourage action against the perpetrators in accordance with applicable law.

According to Yosef Friadi's attorney, the violence in the Mahapel FEB Unila diksar not only left physical injuries, but also deep trauma for the victims. Faaris even suffered eardrums and experienced serious hearing loss.

In addition, the victims are said to have experienced psychological pressure due to intimidation from seniors and the faculty who allegedly tried to cover up the incident.

"The victims have given us power to guard this case until the legal process runs. We will also dig up information from the parents of the late Pratama Wijaya Kusuma," he said.

This case of violence in the Mahapel Unila diksar highlights a dark portrait of the campus world, which should be a space for character development, not a place for systematic violence to be born.

The legal steps taken by the victims are expected to be an opening to uncover the practice of violence in student organizations in various universities.
