Ministry Of Health Distributes 390 Health Workers In Papua Throughout 2021

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health has placed 390 health workers (nakes) in various corners of Papua Province throughout 2021. This is done to optimize medical services for the local community.

"Planned placement in 2021 is 390 health workers and the length of the assignment is two years," said Secretary of the Central Agency for Human Resources Development (PPSDM) of the Ministry of Health, Trisa Wahjuni Putri via telephone in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, May 3.

Trisa said that there were 134 health workers who had been placed and who were on duty in Papua Province as of early April 2021.

The placement of health workers from specialist doctors, midwives and nurses is an implementation of the Healthy Nusantara Program implemented by the Ministry of Health.

"The types of diseases that are of concern to the Nusantara Healthy Team are the same as others in health facilities because they are a team. However, they are expected to provide reinforcement in promotive services, so that people recognize the meaning of health in order to prevent it," he said.

Trisa added that the Nusantara Sehat program has not been able to meet the needs of health workers as a whole in Papua due to the availability of infrastructure and security guarantees that still need to be fulfilled.

But Trisa hopes that the Nusantara Sehat program can bring up Papuan sons and daughters who have special abilities in health sciences.

"I see that part of it can be fulfilled from vocational colleges in Papua. Nusantara Sehat is a temporary scheme, the best thing is that the Papua Regional Government gradually meets the needs of health workers," he said.
