Commission II DPR Supports Steps Of Minister Of Home Affairs Tito Regarding Business Licenses In The Regions

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian has instructed all regional heads to implement Government Regulation Number 6 of 2021 concerning Management of Business Licenses in the Regions. According to the Minister of Home Affairs, the demographic bonus must be met with the acceleration and expansion of employment and development of human resources (HR).

Responding to this, member of Commission II of the DPR, Syamsul Luthfi, welcomed the instruction from the Minister of Home Affairs to facilitate licensing for investment. According to him, this is the government's commitment to support regional economic movements, especially during the pandemic.

"This simplification is expected to bring in many investors who are able to absorb local workers," said Luthfi to reporters, Monday, May 3.

Lutfi advised the government to regulate the implementation of business licensing in the regions to be carried out in an integrated electronic-based manner based on the norms, standards, procedures and criteria set by the central government. So, he said, in its implementation there will be legal certainty in doing business.

"As well as the quality of licensing that can be accounted for, transparent, efficient, effective, integrated and accountable," explained this Nasdem Party politician.

In addition, continued Luthfi, the role of local government is also very important to create jobs for the community. Moreover, it is the obligation of local governments to improve the quality of life of the community and improve human resources and create jobs.

Therefore, local governments as policy makers have rules and capabilities that support the economic growth and development of a region. Thus, regional economic development can eventually increase.

"Then the income of the population also increases, job opportunities increase, purchasing power increases and people can enjoy the results of the regional economic development," said Lutfi.
