JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi) Syaripudin emphasized that the work exchange program or job fair held by the DKI Provincial Government is not limited to formality.

This refutes the assumption that some parties think that the companies involved in the government's job fair activities are not really looking for employees.

"The assumption that job fair is just a formality is not true. The government through the DKI Jakarta Provincial Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Office is very serious in ensuring that job fair is an effective means to bring together job seekers with companies that actually open vacancies," Syaripudin told reporters, Wednesday, June 4.

Syaripudin emphasized that companies included in the job fair were not chosen carelessly. There is a selection process that is carried out before the job market starts.

"Companies must meet a number of criteria, including the availability of real job vacancies, compliance with labor regulations, and readiness to participate in the entire recruitment activity series," he explained.

Prior to the implementation, a technical meeting stage was also carried out between the organizers and participating companies who discussed in detail the technical implementation of activities, positions that were opened, recruitment mechanisms, to readiness to accept applications and conduct direct interviews at the location.

After the job fair is complete, there is a process of submitting reports from the results of the work fair, starting from the number of applicants, the progress of recruitment including how many have been received to the interview stage so that everything is measurable and accountable.

"Of course, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Office periodically carries out follow-up on the absorption of job fair seekers on a regular basis as a form of reporting the performance of employment from job fair," said Syaripudin.

"So we can emphasize that job fair is not just a formality. The government continues to strive to maintain the integrity of the job fair event so that it becomes a real solution for job seekers and the needs of the company's workers," he added.
