The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated documents of alleged corruption in the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA).

This forced effort was made when examining Suhartono as the former Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK) of the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker).

Meanwhile, Suhartono was worked on by investigators at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Monday, May 2.

"Investigators confiscated documents. There was no examination or material question," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, June 3.

Budi has not yet detailed the document. However, current investigators are focusing on looking for evidence related to the alleged extortion that is being investigated through witness statements and evidence.

In this case, eight suspects have been named by the KPK. Although it has not been officially announced, Suhartono is said to be entangled with Haryanto, who has also served as Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK) of the Ministry of Manpower.

While the other suspect is the WP as Director of the Directorate of Foreign Labor Licensing Control (PPTKA) of the Ministry of Manpower; GW who is the Head of the Sub-Directorate and the Commitment and Coordinating Officer; and PCW, JS, AE as staff.

Meanwhile, Suhartono after being questioned did not want to talk much. He only said that he received several questions and had conveyed that he always coordinated through a meeting with Ida Fauziyah as Minister of Manpower for the 2019-2024 period.

"Well, this is usually a meeting and so on, this is a report, there is definitely one report, right, to the superior," he told reporters after being questioned.

In the meeting, Suhartono as Director General of the Ministry of Manpower usually received reports from his subordinates. Thus, he claims he does not know anything about the alleged extortion.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu said there was an allegation that there was an extortion of prospective foreign workers (TKA) who would work in Indonesia.

This extortion, continued Asep, was carried out by the Directorate General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Ditjen Binapenta and PKK).

"(The Ministry of Manpower at the Directorate General of Binapenta collects or forces someone to give something," Asep said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, May 20.

Asep said the suspects were suspected of violating Article 12e or Article 12b of the Anti-Corruption Law. The practice is alleged to have occurred for the period 2020-2023.

Searches have been carried out at a number of locations in Jabodetabek to look for evidence on May 20-22. A total of 11 cars and 2 motorbikes were confiscated and have been transferred to the KPK Confiscated Property Storage House (Rupbasan), Cawang, South Jakarta on Monday, May 26.
