JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the PKS faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Muhammad Thamrin, appreciated the performance of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, who had led for 100 days.

However, he highlighted the low level of public awareness of a number of programs that had been launched, including the job exchange program or job fair.

"Almost half of Jakartans don't know about the job fair program even though social media communication in the capital city is very high," Thamrin told reporters, Monday, June 2.

Thamrin's statement refers to the results of a survey by Indonesian Political Indicators conducted on May 12, 2025. The survey noted that only 52.7 percent of respondents were aware of a job fair program, while 47.3 percent did not know about it.

Still from the same survey, 55.8 percent of residents believe that Pramono-Rano's job fair program can reduce the unemployment rate in Jakarta. However, 42.6 percent said they didn't believe it, and 1.5 percent did not answer.

Seeing this condition, Thamrin encouraged the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to strengthen public communication strategies. He assessed that program socialization must be carried out massively and reach various levels of society.

"The provincial government must improve its public communication strategy in a more aggressive, creative way, penetrate the community from village to village, through RT/RW, local communities, places of worship, stalls, and of course also through digital channels," he said.

He added that a good program will be useless if it is not known to the public. "Because without reaching the residents, the existence of this good program is the same as nothing," he said.

A similar criticism was conveyed by the chairman of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, William Aditya Sarana. He considered the survey findings to be an alarm for the DKI Provincial Government to evaluate the effectiveness of the job fair program implementation.

"Things like this should be an evaluation for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. This job fair program should have an impact on people who are looking for work in the midst of current economic difficulties, namely when dismissal occurs everywhere and people's purchasing power is decreasing," said William.
