PDIP Commemorates The Birthday Of Pancasila, Remembers Bung Karno's Idea

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) held a ceremony to commemorate the Birthday of Pancasila in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Sunday, June 1, as well as to commemorate the services of the first president of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno.

The ceremony was attended by the ranks of the PDIP DPP, such as Ganjar Pranowo, Rano Karno, Tri Rismaharini, Kris Dayanti, Adian Napitupulu, and Djarot Saiful Hidayat. Meanwhile, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri attended the online ceremony.

The chairman of the PDIP DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat, as the ceremony inspector, said in his mandate that June is a month identical to Bung Karno because the Proclaimer was born and died this month.

In addition, he said, in June 80 years ago, Bung Karno answered the question of BPUPKI Chairman Radjiman Wedyodiningrat regarding the basis that will be used when Indonesia is independent. Bung Karno then said about Pancasila.

"Bung Karno explained very clearly and in detail that in the future when Indonesia is independent, we must base ourselves, we must be based on the philosophy of gyrdslag, which is the deepest philosophical basis we call Pancasila," said Djarot.

Bung Karno believes that Pancasila is the basis of ideology that can unite diverse communities. Therefore, Djarot said that June was not only historic for PDIP, but also for the Indonesian people and the world.

"We are aware that Bung Karno does not only belong to the PDI-P, Bung Karno belongs to the Indonesian people and his thoughts belong to the world," he said.

On that occasion, Djarot also invited PDIP cadres to interpret Pancasila by going down to the community, listening to aspirations, and fighting to make people suffer.

He appealed to PDIP cadres throughout Indonesia to assist the people in gaining their freedom, prosperity, health, and increasing their education, as mandated in the points of Pancasila.

That's the ocean of our service. It is the souls of Pancasila that are now required to be truly applied in our daily lives," said Djarot.

In addition to the DPP ranks, the Pancasila Birthday ceremony was also attended by the management of the branch leadership board and administrators of PDIP branches throughout Jakarta, as well as the PDIP Task Force from the Jakarta and Bogor regencies, West Java.
