4,503 Prisoners In Lampung Receive Special Eid Remission

JAKARTA - As many as 4,503 convicts and criminal children scattered in prisons and detention centers in Lampung Province will receive special remissions on Eid Al-Fitr 2021.

"Of the 4,503 convicts and children, 11 of them received immediate remission," said Head of the Corrections Division of the Lampung Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), Farid Junaedi.

Then, he continued, for prisoners and children who received 15 days of leniency as many as 1,085 people, a reduction of 1 month's sentence was 2,974 inmates, 1 month 15 days there were 728 people, and those who got 2 months of remission were 205 people.

"Yes, so the amount of sentence reduction given varies, not all of them are the same. Some are reduced to 15 days of detention, 1 month and two months, and some are even immediately released," he said.

He also mentioned that there were 16 prisons or detention centers whose members received remissions, namely the Bandarlampung Class 1 Prison, there were 665 prisoners, 295 Class II A Prisons in Bumi City and one of the prisoners was immediately free after receiving remission.

Then, he continued, 352 people in Kalianda Prison received remission with two of them immediately being released, 379 people in Class II A Metro Prison, 399 Class II A Narcotics Prison, Bandar Lampung.

There are 201 Class II A Women's Prisons in Bandarlampung, with two of them immediately being released, the Class II B Prison in Kota Agung has 239 prisoners and criminals who get remissions with one of them being immediately free, the Way Kanan Class II B prison, 283 people Class IIB in Gunung Sugih, there were 325 prisoners who received remissions.

"Meanwhile, for the Class II Bandarlampung Special Prison for Children (LPKA), there are 68 children who get remissions, and none are immediately free," he said.

Then, he said, in Class 1 Bandarlampung detention center there were 464 assisted residents who received remissions with one of them immediately being free, as well as in the Class II B detention center in Kota Agung, out of 140 prisoners who received remission, one of them was immediately released.

"Class II B Sukadana detention center out of 201 prisoners who received special remissions for this Eid, three of them were immediately free," he also said.

Then, Class II B Menggala detention center with 231 people, Class II B Krui detention center 84 people, and also Class II B Kotabumi detention center with 117 prisoners who received this remission.

According to him, the cutting of the prison terms for the prisoners and children of criminals is in the context of fulfilling their rights, so it is hoped that these inmates will continue to behave well during their detention period by remembering their religion.
