JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned four witnesses for alleged corruption in the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA) today, Friday, May 23. Three of them are reportedly already suspects.

"The investigation was carried out at the Red and White KPK building," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement, Friday, May 23.

The four witnesses summoned were Suhartono and Haryanto as former Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK); Wisnu Pramono as Director of TKA Usage Control (PPTKA) of the Ministry of Manpower from 2017 to 2019; and Devi Anggraeni as Director of PPTKA. Budi said they had fulfilled the summons.

"The KPK has scheduled an examination of witnesses suspected of corruption related to the management of a plan to use foreign workers (TKA) at the Ministry of Manpower," he said

The anti-corruption commission has recently named eight suspects in this case. There is no official information on anyone and or their actions.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu said there was an allegation that there was an extortion of prospective foreign workers (TKA) who would work in Indonesia.

This extortion was carried out by the Directorate General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Ditjen Binapenta and PKK).

"(The Ministry of Manpower at the Directorate General of Binapenta collects or forces someone to give something," Asep said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, May 20.

Asep said the suspects were suspected of violating Article 12e or Article 12b of the Anti-Corruption Law. The practice is alleged to have occurred for the period 2020-2023.

Investigators are known to have searched a number of locations, including the Ministry of Manpower office on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jakarta. From the search, six cars containing BMW-branded sedans and one motorbike were found.
