Malang Resort Police (Polres) confirmed that the match between Arema FC and Semen Padang which was held at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, in Malang Regency, East Java, would be sterile from supporters, on Saturday (22/5).

"The stadium will be sterilized so that no supporters are allowed to enter," said Head of Operations Section of the Malang Police, Kompol Aryanto Agus Subekti, after a coordination meeting to secure Arema FC's match against Semen Padang at the Malang Police Headquarters, Thursday, May 22.

Sterilization at the Kanjuruhan Stadium is a follow-up to the sanctions given by the PSSI Disciplinary Commission (Komdis) to the implementing committee (panpel) and Arema FC management.

The punishment was given after the incident of throwing an unknown person against the bus of a Persik Kediri player some time ago.

Aryanto stated that to ensure that security runs optimally, his party will not only divide the Kanjuruhan Stadium into four rings but also carry out large-scale patrols at that location.

Later, the security scheme that will be carried out will involve as many as 800 joint personnel, from elements of the TNI, Polri, and the Malang Regency Government.

The joint personnel deployed to comb each location have become a concentration of implementing security activities.

"Officers will also carry out strict supervision around the stadium area," he said.

The local police appealed to all Arema FC supporters to be involved in creating conduciveness in the Malang Regency area, one way to do this is by watching matches from television.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Arema FC Panpel Erwin Hardiyono said that parties who are allowed to enter the Kanjuruhan Stadium field area are also limited, namely match equipment and five representatives from each team.

"This match is completely closed," he said.

This decision is a form of commitment to comply with league regulations and maintain the safety of all parties.

"We hope that all parties understand and support existing decisions," said Erwin.
