National Police Chief Builds Dormitory In Samarinda For Personnel Welfare

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the construction of the Samarinda Police Dormitory was part of the National Police's efforts to improve the welfare of its member personnel.

"Of course this is part of a program to improve welfare for Polri soldiers, and our hope is that with the development carried out, this can improve police services," said Sigit as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 17.

While visiting Gound Breaking for the construction of the Samarinda Police Dormitory located on Jalan Gelatik, Sungai Pinang District, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), Sigit explained that a decent place to live is one of the main needs that members of the National Police must have.

With the fulfillment of proper housing needs, he believes that the performance of Polri services in the fields of protection, law enforcement and protecting the community will increase.

To make the dormitory a proper residence, Sigit completes the residence with various facilities.

The National Police Chief explained that on an area of 1.46 hectares, 15 units of type 1 landed houses would be built for personnel with the rank of Officers, as well as 31 units of type 2 landed houses for NCOs.

In addition, he continued, a three-story flat unit will be built with a capacity of 30 rooms, a mosque with a capacity of 85 people, and a hall that can accommodate 96 people.

The project costs a budget of Rp. 65.57 billion with a work target of 240 days. He hopes that the construction of the National Police members' dormitories can run smoothly and be completed on time.

"Because members get proper housing, and then also the facilities we see the planning is good, and this is also expected to be the consequence of the service of members to the community as well as perfect," concluded Sigit.
