JAKARTA - Founder of Mayapada Group and President Commissioner of PT Bank Mayapada Internasional Tbk, Dato' Sri Tahir stated that philanthropy is not just a matter of numbers, but about expectations and changes in a person's life vision.

The statement was made shortly after attending a special meeting with President Prabowo Subianto and world philanthropic figure Bill Gates at the Jakarta Presidential Palace last week.

The meeting was also attended by a number of national industry figures and ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, as a momentum for synergy between the private sector, government, and the global philanthropic world to support the sustainable development agenda.

"I believe that philanthropy is not just a matter of numbers, but about expectations and changes in a person's life vision. That is also our spirit at Bank Mayapada is here to have a real impact on society and encourage mutual progress," said Dato' Sri Tahir in his statement, Wednesday, May 14.

Tahir emphasized that he would always be committed to health and education through the long-term partnership between the Tahir Foundation and the Gates Foundation.

This collaboration over the past few years has supported the program to deal with tuberculosis, improve sanitation, and expand basic health services in various parts of Indonesia.

The meeting also opened up opportunities for new cooperation in the field of digital education and maternal health, in line with the priorities of the Indonesian government.

In line with this spirit, PT Bank Mayapada Internasional Tbk continues to strengthen its social role in society.

Throughout 2024, more than IDR 25 billion has been distributed through various CSR programs, such as scholarships for outstanding students, basic food assistance for underprivileged communities, routine blood donation activities with PMI, as well as support for religious, sporting, and humanitarian activities.

President Director of Bank Mayapada, Hariyono Tjahjarijadi added that his party wanted to ensure that Bank Mayapada was present not only as a provider of financial services, but also as an institution that cares about social issues around.
