Tragic On A Happy Day, The Groom In Palembang Was Hacked And Threatened To Be Shot Before The Marriage Akad

JAKARTA The moment that was supposed to be the happiest day in Ahmad's life (31), a resident of Palembang, turned into a bloody nightmare. Instead of saying the consent, Ahmad had to be rushed to the hospital in a condition full of wounds due to brutal attacks from five armed men, just a few minutes before his marriage contract began.

The gripping incident occurred on Sunday morning, right in front of the location of the marriage contract and the reception which had been carefully prepared in the Jalan Panca Usaha area, Palembang. Ahmad, who had just gotten out of the car with his family, was greeted not with a smile of happiness, but with a machete and a gun.

According to information gathered from a number of witnesses, four to five men suddenly appeared and immediately attacked Ahmad. The atmosphere immediately panicked. The guests rushed to save themselves, while the screams of fear enveloped the location which was originally decorated with tents and flowers.

One of the perpetrators, named Jono alias Ian, was found to have pointed a gun at Ahmad, while the other three swung a machete at the victim's body. Unarmed Ahmad could only run to save himself to a resident's house covered in blood.

"There are five people. Three brought machetes, one brought a gun. I know the one who brought the gun, his name was Ian," said Ahmad, quoting ANTARA, Sunday, May 11.

Ahmad suffered serious injuries to his head, hands, and feet. He is currently undergoing intensive care, while his entire body is bandaged. The moment of marriage that he had been waiting for with his future wife, Parida, had to be canceled.

The mother, Ningcik, couldn't help but cry when she saw the condition of her child lying weakly in the hospital. She admitted that she didn't know the reason behind the attack. "We were shocked, we didn't know who the culprit was and why, suddenly we were attacked," said Ningcik with a trembling voice.

However, Ahmad suspects that this terrible incident is related to the old conflict. He admitted that he had clashed with Ian in 2019, after being accused of being a police informant. The quarrel even led to a stabbing.

"He once shouted that I was a thief on the Kertapati Bridge. We had a chase. At that time he himself, I stabbed him," said Ahmad.

The Head of Seberang Ulu I Palembang Police, AKP Herri, said that his party was conducting an in-depth investigation into this case. Initial allegations lead to personal revenge motives, but the police are still gathering information from witnesses and victims.

"We will pursue the perpetrators and reveal the real motive. There is no room for violence like this, let alone threaten someone's life on the day of their marriage," said Herri.

Until now, the atmosphere of grief is still surrounding Ahmad and Parida's families. A day that should be filled with happiness turns into a tragic event that they will remember forever.
