JAKARTA - The National Police claims to have thoroughly investigated 3,326 cases related to thuggery during the implementation of the Regional Police Operation which was held simultaneously since May 1, 2025.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Shandi Nugroho, said that this operation was part of the National Police's commitment to maintaining security and order and supporting national economic growth.
"The National Police noted that they had completed 3,326 cases during the Regional Police Operation," Shandi said in his statement, Friday, May 9.

Then, the Banten Police who arrested 146 perpetrators, the Central Kalimantan Police who summoned the Head of the Central Kalimantan Grib regarding the closure of PT BAP, and the South Jakarta Metro Police who secured 10 people who carried machetes and firearms.
"This operation is a concrete effort by the National Police to eradicate thuggery that disturbs the public's sense of security and hinders the investment climate. We will not tolerate acts of intimidation, extortion, or violence committed by individuals or groups under the guise of community organizations," he said.
The prosecution focused on various forms of crime such as extortion, illegal levies, threats, destruction of public facilities, beatings, persecution, incitement, defamation, spread of fake news and hate speech, to kidnapping.
"Premanism in any form cannot be tolerated. We want to provide legal certainty for the community and business actors, so that public spaces and business climates in Indonesia remain conducive," he said.
In an effort to eradicate thuggery, the National Police will take action against community organizations that are proven to have committed criminal acts, conduct raids on the practice of extortion and thuggery, check the legality of the organizations involved, and coordinate with experts and stakeholders to formulate appropriate handling steps.
