Denpasar Police Arrest Syndicate Of ATM Card Burglars With Gigi

DENPASAR - Denpasar Police revealed a syndicate of burglary of an Independent Cash Exchange Card (ATM) in Denpasar, Bali.

Denpasar Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head Kompol Laurens Rajamangapul Haselo said two people from the syndicate had been arrested, namely Beranhar Abdullah (52) and Muhamad Rizky (46).

The two men from West Java stole money by blocking the Mandiri Cash Pavilion (ATM) machine using aarse.

"The perpetrator's mode was to block the ATM card with a tooth and then pretend to help the victim," said Laurens, Monday, May 5.

He explained that the perpetrators initially directed the victim to make transactions, by means of an ATM card attached to the Brizzi button monitor screen and pressing the ATM card PIN.

After that, the perpetrator exchanged the victim's ATM card with the perpetrator's ATM card similar to the victim's ATM card.

After the card was successfully exchanged, the perpetrator left the ATM and made a transaction using the victim's card at a different location.

According to Laurens, the perpetrators are suspected of being trained by other parties in carrying out their actions.

The theft case using ATM marijuana was revealed when one of the victims, I Wayan Mangku Sweden (72), reported losing money to the Denpasar Police.

At that time, the Telkom retiree was about to take money to an ATM and meet the two perpetrators.

Initially, the perpetrator Beranhar told Sweden to withdraw money using the Cash TAP method. Without realizing it, Sweken's ATM was exchanged for a fake card that had been prepared by the perpetrator.

Minutes later, Beranhar left Sweden.

At the same time, the perpetrator Rizky waited while peeking at the ATM pin. After getting the PIN number, the two perpetrators moved to another ATM and drained the contents of the victim's account of more than Rp. 100 million.

After stealing the victim's money, Beranhar fled to his hometown in Bogor and Rizky fled to Bandung.

To the officers, both claimed to have taken the victim's money. The stolen money is used to meet daily needs and gamble online.

The police charged Beranhar and Rizky with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning the Crime of Theft with a maximum imprisonment of seven years.
