BANJARBARU - Head of Military Odditurat III-15 Banjarmasin Lt. Col. CHK Sunandi said member of the Indonesian Navy Classi Satu Jumran as a defendant in the murder of a journalist from Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, Juwita (23), persuaded the victim to have sex before killing the victim.

Lt. Col. Sunandi revealed the evidence in the inaugural trial with the agenda of reading the indictment at the Military Court (Dilmil) I-06 Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru City, Monday, May 5.

When meeting in Banjarbaru on March 22, 2025, the defendant picked up the victim using a rental car on the side of the road (he was asked to wait at the location). The defendant held the victim's hand and stroked it with romantic words, then the victim leaned his head on the defendant's shoulder," said Lt. Col. Sunandi in the indictment reported by ANTARA.

The romantic words, said Sunandi, were to trick the victim into not being suspicious of the murder that the defendant would commit that day.

"The victim was softened, as if so that the victim did not suspect that he wanted to be killed. He was taken around by car to the South Kalimantan Governor's office area in Banjarbaru," said Sunandi.

In the indictment, it was revealed that the victim had asked what the defendant was doing so that he came to Banjarbaru, then the defendant stopped the car on the quiet side of the road. Then the defendant ordered the victim to move to the seat in the middle of the car and followed by the defendant. The defendant began to come into contact with the victim, until finally he had a relationship like husband and wife for about 20 minutes.

After having a forbidden relationship, the defendant drove back into the car he was traveling in, and asked the victim to chat a little, then toured the office area of the Governor of South Kalimantan using the car while looking at the situation whether it was safe to kill the victim.

Seeing the unsafe situation, said Sunandi, the defendant was driving a car towards the crime scene (TKP) on Jalan Trans Gunung Kupang, Cempaka Village, Cempaka District, Banjarbaru City.

After at the scene, the defendant saw the situation was quiet, then parked the car on the side of the road. Then the victim asked why it stopped on the quiet side of the road.

Without talking long, the defendant ordered the victim to move to the back seat of the car, followed by the defendant and approached the victim. Not waiting long, the defendant immediately put his legs on the victim's body, locked the victim's neck with his hands, then pulled both hands towards the back, the victim fought back but was helpless.

Because it was not effective, the defendant took off his hand, the victim had asked if the defendant wanted to kill him. Then the defendant moved forward to the victim, pushed his shoulder and strangled the victim's neck along with locking the victim's thigh with his feet for about 10 minutes.

After death, the defendant moved to the front seat of the car. Then took the victim's cell phone to be destroyed, took the victim's motorbike which was previously parked in one of the supermarkets, and put the motorbike at the scene, pulled the victim from the car while adjusting the position with the victim's motorbike as if it was a single accident.

Based on provisional information from the results of the investigation, the defendant killed the victim because he did not want to be responsible for marrying the victim after the alleged agency's relationship was detected by the victim's family.

In today's inaugural trial, the panel of judges at the Military Court (Dilmil) I-06 Banjarmasin examined as many as six witnesses out of a total of 11 witnesses, five other witnesses and other evidence to be examined on Thursday (8/5). Meanwhile, the defendant was again detained to follow the agenda of the next trial.
