DENPASAR - Deputy Governor of Bali I Nyoman Giri Prasta emphasized that there is no need for a community organization (ormas) from people outside Bali to protect Bali.

Deputy Governor Giri responded to the emergence of the United Indonesia People's Movement (GRIB) in Bali.

"I emphasize once again if the outside mass organization (states) will look after Bali, I don't think it's necessary at this time," he said, Monday, May 5.

It is known that a video of the inauguration of the Chairman of the GRIB Jaya Ormas, Yosef Nahak, was also attended by the General Chairperson of the GRIB DPP Jaya Hercules Rosario on social media. There is also a video circulating that the mass organization has formed the Tabanan Regency DPC.

The Deputy Governor of Bali saw that there was no need for the presence of mass organizations from outside Bali, because Bali had been guarded by the TNI/Polri apparatus, plus more than 1,400 traditional villages had formed pecalang or security forces in the customary village environment.

"Now this pecalang traditional village has a role to play in maintaining the aesthetics of the traditional area itself and has been outlined in the decision of the Bali Provincial Government to form a Bakamda (a traditional village security assistance)," he said.

Giri Prasta reminded that through Bakamda, collaboration between the state security apparatus and elements of indigenous peoples has been established, so that those who will maintain Bali's safety and comfort.

The Bali Provincial Government is even preparing a plan to provide incentives for pecalang as a form of concern for the elements that protect Bali.

"So if this outside mass organization in Bali has the principle of maintaining security and comfort, I don't think it is necessary because it already exists," he continued.

Asked about efforts to stop the movement to form the mass organization, the Deputy Governor of Bali explained that he did not have the authority to refuse or allow it.

Until now, the GRIB Jaya mass organization is known to have not submitted a certificate to Kesbangpol Bali as an administrative requirement, so Giri still wants to see the aspirations of the main Balinese people.
