Regarding Try Sutrisno's Child Canceled Transfer, Kapuspen TNI Calls The Decision To Be Made Professionally

The Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of the TNI Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi emphasized that the entire process of transfer of positions within the TNI was purely based on the needs of the organization and official flow (tour of duty).

Kristomei explained that the mutation of soldiers, including adjustments to the planned mutation of Lt. Gen. Kunto Arief Wibowo, had gone through the trial mechanism of the Council of Ranks and High Positions (Wanjakti).

He explained that the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto has officially re-established the position of Lt. Gen. Kunto Arief Wibowo, who was previously planned to fill the position of Special Staff of the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD).

With this adjustment, Lt. Gen. Kunto, who is the son of the sixth vice president of the Republic of Indonesia Try Sutrisno, remains the Commander of the Joint Regional Defense Command (Pangkogabwilhan) I.

According to Kapuspen, the mutation change was made after careful consideration. In the position rotation process, he said, there are a number of positions that have not been possible to be abandoned by high-ranking TNI officers in the intended rotation series.

Previously, during a press conference in Jakarta, Friday (2/5) night, Kapuspen confirmed that Lt. Gen. Kunto and six other high-ranking officers had canceled their transfer as stipulated in the Decree (SK) of the TNI Commander Number Kep/554.a/IV/2025.

This means that Lt. Gen. Kunto and six other high-ranking officers who were initially affected by mutations/rotations as stipulated in the Decree of the TNI Commander Number Kep/554/IV/2025 returned to their original position.

"There are some that cannot be shifted at this time, so it is decided now to correct or suspend the series, and issued Kep/554.a/IV/2025 dated April 30 with another series," he said.

Kapuspen also emphasized that the latest policy of the TNI Commander was not related to other issues currently developing, including related to the attitude of the 6th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Try Sutrisno, who is the father of Lt. Gen. Kunto.
