Yogyakarta Special Region Police has accelerated the investigation into the alleged embezzlement of land certificates belonging to Mbah Tupon (68), a resident of Ngentak, Bangunjiwo, Bantul.
"This process is of our concern and is of concern. The investigation process is still being carried out, witnesses have been examined," said Yogyakarta Police Chief Inspector General Anggoro Sukartono in Yogyakarta, Friday, May 2.

This case began with the transfer of the right to a land certificate covering an area of 1,655 square meters belonging to Mbah Tupon which was known suddenly on behalf of someone else. The land was then used as credit collateral worth Rp1.5 billion in a bank, without the knowledge of the family.
Until now, the police have examined eleven witnesses from the reporting party, while the reported party will be examined at the next stage of development.
Although the notary office suspected of being involved is now closed, he ensures that the whereabouts of the related parties are still being monitored and there are no indications of escaping.
"Everything has been monitored and the whereabouts of the person concerned have been detected, we will accelerate the process," said Anggoro.
He also appealed to people who feel they are victims of the land mafia to immediately report to the nearest police station so that they can be followed up immediately.
