Labor Day Moment, More Than 1,500 Vehicles To Monas

PT Jasa Marga recorded more than 1,500 vehicles heading to Monas on fire (doc. Jasa Marga).

JAKARTA - The moment of Labor Day (Mmencer) which took place on Thursday, May 1, 2025, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded that 1,500 vehicles were observed heading towards the Monas area, Central Jakarta.

Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, Widiyatmiko Nursejati, explained that the masses began to move using a number of buses across several JMT toll roads such as Jagorawi, Dalam Kota, and Cipularang-Padaleunyi.

"In total, both bus and nonbus vehicles, JMT recorded a total of more than 1,500 vehicles having crossed several Toll Gates (GT) to the Monas Area, such as GT Halim, GT Cililitan, GT Cawang, and GT Tomang," he said in a written statement, Thursday, May 1, 2025.

As of 09.00 WIB, 193 buses were recorded crossing the Cipularang Toll Road, 199 buses via the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road, and 72 buses crossing the Jagorawi Toll Road to the Monas area.

Some of them received police escorts to maintain order and smooth traffic on toll roads.

Anticipating overcrowding on the highway, Jasa Marga is working with the Police to prepare several anticipatory and security measures, as well as implement traffic engineering.

In addition, Jasa Marga also places officers at several points prone to density and alerts service and assistance fleets, such as mobile customer service, rescue teams, ambulances, cranes, and crane vehicles to accelerate evacuation.

In order not to get caught in traffic jams, the public is asked to avoid the route to Senayan to the area towards the MPR/DPR Building which is confirmed to be a commemoration point for International Labor Day.

"Jasa Marga urges road users to anticipate their travel directions and times by avoiding congestion-prone access points to several locations, such as the Senayan area and the MPR/DPR Building," said Widiyatmiko.
