The High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) revealed that there was a suspicious flow of funds that led to a personal account in the investigation into the alleged corruption case in the construction project of the Kaltara Province Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) building.
"There is a flow of funds that we find, some even go to personal accounts, but later there will be a time when we will open, where and where are the funds flowing," said Assistant for Special Crimes (Aspidsus) of the North Kalimantan Attorney General's Office Nurhadi Puspandoyo in Tanjung Selor, Thursday, April 24, confiscated by Antara.
However, the Attorney General's Office has not disclosed in detail the identity of the recipient of the flow of funds.
He said the findings of the flow of funds were revealed after investigators conducted a series of examinations of witnesses related to the construction project of the BPSDM building. The flow of funds allegedly occurred in the second stage of project work.
However, both the amount of funds and the identity of the recipient are still under investigation by the prosecutor's office.
"What is clear is where we have pocketed the flow of funds (the recipient's name) and we don't just read it either, meaning that when we said there was a flow of funds, we also pocketed the valid evidence," he said.
Aspidsus Kejati Kaltara explained that the alleged misappropriation of the project budget did not only occur in the second stage, but also allegedly occurred in the first stage of the work.
To date, more than 20 witnesses have been questioned by investigators. Some of the witnesses examined were even strongly suspected of receiving the flow of funds from the project.
Even the Attorney General's Office has not yet named a suspect in this case.
"We have traced the flow of funds, it is clear to anyone," he explained.

Currently, the North Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office is focusing on collecting information from witnesses from construction experts who were brought in from a university in Surabaya.
This expert's statement will later become the basis for auditors to calculate the potential loss to the state due to the alleged corruption.
"In principle, we have a simple principle, light costs quickly," he said.
