CIANJUR - The Cianjur Resort Police, West Java, conducted an examination of 10 people related to poisoning that befell dozens of students from two schools in Cianjur after eating Free Nutrition (MBG).
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Cianjur Police, AKP Tono Listianto in Cianjur, Wednesday, said that his party had visited the location, including the MBG kitchen which produces food for MBG in Cianjur District, by bringing samples of food suspected to be the cause of poisoning.
"We have asked for clarification and information from 10 people starting from the person in charge of CV, the Head of the Cianjur District Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), SPPG Nutritionists, three staff, the packaging team, and two food delivery couriers," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 23.
To determine the cause of the mass poisoning, his party coordinated with various parties, starting from the Cianjur District Health Office and the West Java Province Labkesda, to conduct a quick examination of the food samples that had been confiscated.
Currently in handling and investigating the poisoning case, his party puts forward the presumption of innocence, and is waiting for the results of laboratory tests that are being carried out.
"We are waiting for the results of the laboratory examination to determine the cause of the poisoning and we will immediately inform you again when there are results of the examination," he said.
As reported by the Cianjur District Health Office, it was confirmed that dozens of students who were poisoned with Free Nutrition Food (MBG) who had undergone treatment at two hospitals in Cianjur had been allowed to go home and received supervision from health workers.
Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the Cianjur Health Office, Frida Laila Yahya, said the total number of victims of poisoning from two schools of MAN I Cianjur and SMP PGRI I Cianjur who received treatment at the Sayang and Bhayangkara Cianjur Hospital was 79 people.
"A total of 79 students consist of 60 MAN I students and 19 PGRI I junior high schools, currently all of them have returned to their respective homes and continue to receive supervision from health workers from the nearest health center," he said.
The condition of the dozens of students continued to improve so they were allowed to go home, but during their recovery they still received supervision and visits from health workers to ensure their health condition returned to normal and can carry out their activities as before.
