Pertamina Will Repair 3,074 Houses Damaged By The Balongan Refinery Fire

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina will immediately repair 3,074 houses and properties of residents affected by the four tank fire at the Balongan Refinery, Indramayu Regency, West Java. Repair costs will be transferred directly to the affected home owner's account.

"The cost of repairing damaged buildings and property for residents also includes mason services. God willing, it will be enough to repair the house," said Unit Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Kilang Balongan Cecep Surpiyatna as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 28.

Cecep said that the provision of repair costs had previously gone through several stages, such as data collection by 16 joint teams formed through the Decree of the Regent of Indramayu Regency No.364.05 / Kep.195-Kesra / 2021 concerning the Team for Handling Social and Environmental Impacts Due to the Fire of the RU VI Balongan Tank.

The team continued Cecep, consisting of the Technical Team of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and the Office of Settlements and Housing (Kimrum) of Indramayu Regency.

"The team has finished recording, verifying, and validating the amount of the cost of repairing buildings and property for residents of 3,074 units," he said.

It is important that Cecep's continued verification and validation be carried out before the repair costs are paid as a form of accountability.

"The verification and validation process begins with a survey and field data collection by an independent joint team," he said.

Cecep explained the procedure for providing the cost of repairs to residents' houses, later for residents, BRI accounts would be created and savings books distributed according to the schedule and location determined by Pertamina.

Then the funds that have been agreed upon will be transferred to the account of each citizen that has been recorded. Meanwhile, the savings book will be distributed to affected residents gradually.

"The first stage on Thursday (29/4), the savings books will be distributed to residents in two villages located in the ring of one refinery, namely Balongan Village and Sukaurip Village, Balongan District, Indramayu Regency," he said.
