The PT Pegadaian Workers Union decided to take legal action by filing a lawsuit to the Industrial Relations Court (PHI) at the Central Jakarta District Court.

The decision relates to a dispute over industrial relations with the management of PT Pegadaian which has not reached an agreement.

Secretary General of the Central Leadership Council (DPP SP) PT Pegadaian, Joko Mulyono stated that the legal action taken by the PT Pegadaian Workers Union received full support from the management of the PT Pegadaian Workers Union throughout Indonesia.

The Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of Trade Unions from various regions conveyed a statement of attitude demanding management to carry out a Collective Work Agreement (PKB) for the 2023 '2025 Period consistently.

"The moral support of all DPD Pegadaian Workers Unions in Indonesia is strong evidence that this struggle is not only for the benefit of certain groups, but for the sake of realizing good and just corporate governance," said Joko in his statement, Monday, April 21.

In addition, legal steps were taken after the DKI Jakarta Provincial Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Office issued a Written Amendment on April 16, 2025.

The recommendation is part of the conflict resolution procedure regulated in Law Number 2 of 2004 concerning the Settlement of Industrial Relations Disputes. Based on Article 13 Paragraph (2), if one of the parties rejects the recommendation, then the relevant party can bring the case to court.

Joko emphasized that his party is committed to continuing the legal process in order to ensure the certainty of the implementation of the current PKB.

He said that the enforcement of PKB was not solely a matter of internal regulations, but also regarding the welfare of employees and their families throughout Indonesia.

"The Labor Union hopes that this legal process can become a momentum for upholding the principles of corporate governance that are transparent and accountable, as well as encouraging the creation of harmonious industrial relations within PT Pegadaian," said Joko.

The dispute is known to be related to the alleged violation of the Collective Work Agreement (PKB) which includes the external recruitment process, an early retirement program, to the status of employees who are entering retirement.
