JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi tested negative for the corona virus or COVID-19. He was allowed to go home after being treated for a month at the Gatot Subroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD).

"The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Budi Karya Sumadi, returned to the residence a few days ago after being treated at the Army Hospital," Ministry of Transportation spokesperson Adita Irawati told reporters via text message, Wednesday, April 5.

Even though he was declared healthy, Adita said that the Minister of Transportation, Budi, could not immediately do his usual activities. This is because he has to carry out independent isolation for 14 days in accordance with the applicable health protocol for handling COVID-19.

"He is healthy and is currently doing recovery and independent isolation for 14 days according to the doctor's direction," he said.

Those who carry out the self-isolation protocol, quoted from Alodokter, must stay for 14 days at home and are not allowed to move outside the home. They also should not have close contact with people living in the same household, even if necessary, using separate rooms.

The next step is to always use a mask to avoid the risk of transmission at home. Then, the use of utensils such as plates, spoons, forks and glasses must also be separated. Furthermore, always adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle and immediately contact the hospital if there are complaints again during the independent isolation period.

It is known, on March 14, the Government announced the health status of the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi (BKS) who tested positive for the corona virus or COVID-19. Budi Karya is currently being treated at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital. Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan was appointed as a temporary replacement.
