Visiting RI, Deputy PM Of Malaysia Will Meet Gibran To Discuss Vocational-Disaster Handling Training

JAKARTA - Deputy Prime Minister (PM) of Malaysia, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, made a three-day visit to Indonesia starting today, Sunday 20-22 April 2025.

who is also the Minister of Village Progress and the Malaysian Region is scheduled to meet with the Vice President (Vice President) of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to discuss and explore opportunities for cooperation in the field of education and vocational training.

According to a statement from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) quoted via Antara, Sunday, April 20, Deputy PM Ahmad will also discuss opportunities for cooperation related to the halal industry, rural development, and disaster management.

On the same occasion, Ahmad will visit the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Emergency Operations Center at the Center for Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance for ASEAN Disaster Management (AHA Center).

Ahmad will also participate in the Halal Round Table Session and hold discussions with the main representatives of the Indonesian franchise industry, including the Indonesian Franchise Association (AFI) and the Indonesian Waralaba and License Association (WALi). In addition to launching the 2025 ASEAN Unity Drive at the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta.

The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the visit would further strengthen the relationship that had been closely and closely established between the two countries.

The visit also became a platform to enhance bilateral cooperation, address various challenges at the regional level, and strengthen collaboration in common interests in the future.

In 2024, Indonesia will become Malaysia's sixth-largest trading partner in global ranking and second-largest in ASEAN.

The value of bilateral trade in 2024 was recorded at RM116.29 billion ($25.5 billion) or around Rp445.39 trillion, an increase of 4.5 percent compared to RM111.21 billion ($24.39 billion) or around Rp425.93 trillion in 2023.
