Apart From Being Free, Women's Special Doors Will Be Provided At MRT To Transjakarta Sambut Kartini Day

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) will provide special doors for female passengers on Transjakarta, MRT, and LRT services. This is done in commemoration of Kartini Day on April 21.

"The mechanism will be prepared specifically for free customers, both in Transjakarta, MRT, and LRT," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, via a short message received in Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, April 18.

The provision of this special gate is a follow-up to Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung's statement regarding the plan to provide free public transportation on Kartini Day.

In addition to Kartini Day, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also make public transportation free on April 24, 2025, which coincides with the commemoration of National Transportation Day.

"On April 24 to coincide with National Transportation Day, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also provide free transportation services throughout the day which includes Transjakarta (BRT, Non-BRT and Microtrans), MRT Jakarta and LRT Jakarta," said Syafrin.

Regarding the realization of the program, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has coordinated with related agencies outside Jakarta to prepare free public transportation services for 15 groups of people to support access to mobilization of residents of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok. Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek).

The 15 beneficiary groups are civil servants from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, retired civil servants, contract workers from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, KJP Plus recipient students, residents of Rusunawa, the PKK Mobilization Team, and employees with salaries equivalent to the UMP.

Later, they can register themselves through a registration scheme at Bank DKI.

Registration can also be done through Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta applications. Registration includes registration, verification, data validation, card production and distribution, to card activation in both physical and digital form.
