Jatake Station Targeted To Be Completed This July

JAKARTA - PT KAI (Persero) Vice President of Public Relations, Anne Purba said, the progress of the construction of Jatake Station has now reached 75.9 percent and is targeted for completion in July 2025.

KAI's collaboration station with the private sector, namely PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk, is said to not only add service points across Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung, but will become regional integration-based transportation.

"The Jatake Station is the first station produced by KAI and private collaboration with the concept of seamless connection to the shopping center area," he said in his statement, quoted Friday, April 18.

In the scheme, Jatake Station will be directly connected to shopping centers. This concept provides ease of mobility while at the same time supporting the development of transit-oriented development (TOD)-based areas.

He also added that the construction of this station uses a creative financing scheme, without dependence on the state budget (non-APBN). From the demand side, the existence of Jatake Station answers the community's need for expanding service capacity across Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung.

The volume of commuter line users on this line shows a consistent upward trend from year to year. In 2022, passenger volume reached 48,338,858 people, a significant increase to 64,899,516 people in 2023.

This trend continues in 2024, where the total volume reaches 73,296,200 users or a surge of almost 52 percent within two years. Entering 2025, only in the period January to March alone, the Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung route has served 19,089,018 customers.

This increase strengthens the urgency of providing additional infrastructure to ensure convenience and affordability of services. "The Jatake Station is expected to absorb this volume spike as well as encourage more equitable passenger redistribution," said Anne.
