Doctors In Malang Reported For Alleged Sexual Harassment

A woman with the initials QAR reported a doctor at a private hospital in Malang City, East Java to the authorities on Friday, April 18. The alleged perpetrator was accused of sexually harassing her.

QAR's legal adviser, Satria Marwan, was met at the Malang City Police Headquarters Lobby, saying this decision was taken because the alleged perpetrator did not have good faith in the victim, either admitting his actions and surrendering to the police.

"We thought at first this doctor felt guilty, then surrendered but did not. We were forced to take legal action by making a report about sexual harassment that occurred to the victim, in (September) 2022," Satria quoted ANTARA as saying, April 18.

In this reporting effort, the victim's legal advisory team included a number of pieces of evidence but he was still not willing to disclose this matter.

Meanwhile, he said the QAR victim had come to the Malang City Police Headquarters accompanied by one family member.

"The evidence is there, it has been completed but I can't mention it now. (The victim) from Bandung came with a family representative," he said.

Regarding QAR's condition, Satria said that the person concerned had been hesitant to report the alleged sexual harassment committed by AY.

"He is also in shock, there is anxiety whether what he is doing is right but we assure you that this step is right and right," said Satria.

In addition, Satria also regrets that there has been no communication and apology from the hospital where AY works, even though the doctor has been deactivated.

According to him, the hospital management should have immediately apologized to the victim, because the alleged perpetrator was a worker there.

"I regret it very much, I think there is no loss for the hospital to defend its good name by apologizing but why so far there has been no apology?", he said.
